This is a very unique restaurant because it is a repurposed church building that I was told the owners saved from being torn down by the city. I also had a good experience overall, and the food was as good as other reviews I had read. I don't think you will be disappointed. The only thing when I compare it to other places I've eaten at it was a little more priced than I typically would spend. Note that they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday's

While I was in the area I pulled out my phone looking for food. I scrolled through a bunch of options, but I was looking for something spectacular. I picked 1894 in Perham, MN after seeing a burger picture. I was a little confused as I pulled up because it is a remodeled church, so I thought for sure I was at the wrong place. I stood my ground though and walked through the door, and I'm incredibly happy I did. It is a beautiful location with places to sit outside, inside and upstairs. The staff is super friendly and look time to explain the menu to me. They serve locally grown beef, pork, produce and dairy. I personally had the bell tower burger and it was phenomenal . The mushrooms were thick and perfectly cooked. The bell tower sauce, I literally used my burger to make sure I didn't miss a drop of sauce. The waitress said it was like a stroganoff sauce. Omg! The fries were nice and thick with a perfect crunchy texture. I am so glad I took a chance and stopped. Definitely top 3 burgers I have eaten.

Enjoyed our visit. Had a bacon cheeseburger and chicken strips. Both were okay. Loved the fries. Servers were very attentive and the building is beautiful ! Their bourbon bbq sauce is very hot.

New favorite restaurant. We were in the Detroit Lakes area found this unique place to eat in Perham. It was rainy so our plans of hiking for the Trolls of Detroit Lake changed. We drove to Perham to try out this restaurant that sounded interesting, and we were not disappointed. 1894 is a church that has been repurposed into an eatery. It was worth the drive, the owners did a great job keeping the integrity of the building, it still has an altar, there is seating in the balcony and even a special table in the bell tower. The food was awesome, I would honestly say the Bell Tower Burger is one of the best burgers that I have had. I would also recommend the smoked chicken wings, they were divine. The staff was very prompt, pleasant, knowledgable and informative. We were even lucky enough to meet the owners Mom! If you are in the area, make sure to stop by and check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Good food, good service! I love their onion rings especially. It's a neat atmosphere being in an old church. No kids menu that I saw but our kids enjoyed the cheese burger and the other 2 shared a pizza.

The Bell Tower Burger was amazing! We were in the area fishing for 2 weeks, had meals, and cocktails twice here. This will be a weekly go-to each June and September..

BEST wings ever. I am now ruined for other restaurants' wings. These are SMOKED then baked. They are absolutely delicious and crispy and so full of flavor and not dry! Everyone who has complained that the wings are "undercooked" because they're pink inside....you clearly know NOTHING about the smoking process. Go here!!!!
